Sweet Collette came in for her One Year cake smash photography session with me Saturday morning. I had the most adorable outfits ready for her to try on for the big day & she looked so darn cute in each & every one of them. We started off with her formal set that included a gorgeous, white floral dress & orange flowers for Spring. Baby girl was all smiles for the most part until she started putting her head down. Mom mentioned she had an ear infection & is on antibiotics but was doing better. Poor girl would put her head down from time to time which honestly made me feel so bad for her. She is the sweetest little girl just was dealing with pain on & off. Parents drove in from Dayton so it was crucial to get great images as they wouldn't be able to come back any time soon because of the long travel here. She was honestly doing great, so the show went on!

The fun cake smash portion started & Collette was unsure of what it was. It's very normal for children to not realize that the cake is food. They are used to being in their highchair at certain times of the day & given small pieces of food they are familiar with so sometimes it takes them a minute to realize its edible. Mom ended up smashing her hand into the back of the cake & she was all for it. The first bite was the funniest to witness. Her eyes got big & she shook her head, closing her eyes tightly. SUGAR RUSH! haha She then took her time eating the fluffy icing & enjoying her first ever cake. The theme mom asked for was a bumble bee theme but with not too much blacks. I rolled with more of a honeycomb type vibe so that we could steer clear of all the blacks but still get the cute bumble bee/ honey look. It turned out so amazing & mom gushed when she walked in the front door & saw it put together for the first time.

She was very unsure of the bath (& also we were heading into her nap time) so we worked quickly to get these shots. They turned out SO cute! Collette is such an independent, strong-willed girl who is going to move mountains one day. She is the cutest little girl who looks just like her dad (Sorry mom lol but its true). I am honored to be able to watch you grow Collette & see where life takes you.
